In a 1931 letter he writes "Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks…” This drink was published in a 1935 collection of celebrity cocktail recipes, and Hemingway’s own instructions are "Pour one jigger of absinthe into a champagne glass. Add iced champagne until it attains the proper opalescent milkiness…" If Hemmingway were alive this would be his Absinthe Glass of choice. Mix your favorite Sparkling Rosé champagne with a Swiss La Bleue or Blanche absinthe and watch the Green Fairy dance in the bubbly. New Year’s Eve will never be the same!
